ABOUT TARIQ HAFEEZ

Tariq is an experienced School Admission and Appeals consultant.

He has worked with many Local Authorities including Surrey County Council and has been the School Admission Manager for a major London Local Authority. Work with Local Authorities covers appeals, admission consultancy and interim management assignments. Appeal work includes both ‘Infant Class Size Appeals’ (covering Reception, Year 1 and Year 2), and ‘Prejudice Appeals’ (covers Year 3 to Year 11). These two types of appeals are distinct and require different documentation.

Tariq has also worked with many schools including Foundation Schools, Faith Schools, Academies and Trusts, and Free schools, all of which are their own Admission Authority., to develop their admissions policies and procedures. He then prepares the appeals documentation and represents the school at Appeal Hearings. He has built up an enviable portfolio of schools, which he represents on a year-after-year basis. This is due to the strong relationship he has developed with these schools and a reflection of the high professional standing he is held in by Head Teachers, Governors and others.

Tariq has presented hundreds of cases on behalf of the Local Authorities, Academies, Foundation, Trust and Faith schools with an excellent track record of winning.

Tariq is legally qualified and has been a Governor of various schools. He has also in a previous life been an OFSTED Inspector, where he inspected many schools as part of the OFSTED Inspection team.

Given the experience and expertise acquired over many years, Tariq is now able to offer the same service to parents who have been refused admission for their child, to their preferred school. He quickly establishes the main points supporting the parent’s case and works with them to maximise their chances of success. His careful research and preparation means that he knows how to prepare the appeals documents, how to present at the appeals hearing and what questions to ask the school
